Trip Review
Ocean City MD

For my good friend Jim Sr and myself it's another September golf trip to Ocean City MD. We started, this short but always fun, trek to OC about 6 years ago. At first it was just the 2 of us, last year we increased our numbers to four (now Jim Jr is on the roster) . Next year it looks like our numbers will increase again to eight.
Enough about history.
This year we switched our hotel to the Holiday Inn on 66th St. Good move on our part, great view of the pool and ocean. I slept every night with the door open to here the surf bound on the beach.
As always we start at Eagle. Great course, always in good shape when we are there and the folks there are great to us. Side note, have not tried them lately, but they use to have the best Bloody Mary's. This year we played Eagle, River Run, Bay Side and Bay Wood. The 2 Bay course are fantastic. I'd put them up there with Lighthouse and Rum point.
The views, course layout (if you like to challenge yourself or just play for fun) are great.
We found a new restaurant this year called the Shark, at 12924 Sunset Ave. I highly recommend it .. We liked to so much we went there 2 nights in a row.
This ends my very brief review of this years trip.
I left out biker week, the race cars, bar reviews and some off the other restaurants we frequent.
But it's always been a fun place for us.

Saddlebrook Holiday Recipe

This unique dish is a wonderful and sophisticated (yet easy to make) appetizer to enjoy with family and friends in this holiday season...and it is great with a glass of chilled Chardonay.
Savory Roasted Red Pepper Cheesecake
3 tablespoons fine, dry breadcrumbs
1 1/2 (8 oz.) packages of cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup milk
2 large eggs
1 (1.3 oz.) package creamy tomato pasta sauce mix
1 (7 oz.) jar roasted red peppers, drained and finely chopped (about 2/3 cup)
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 cup (2 oz.) shredded Jarlsberg or Gouda cheese
Garnish - parsley sprig
French baguette, sliced and toasted
Coat a 6 inch spring-form pan with vegetable cooking spray; sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Beat cream cheese at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth; gradually add milk, beating until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in sauce mix and next 3 ingredients. Pour into greased pan. Bake at 325° for 55 to 60 minutes or until almost set. Cool completely in pan and when cool, remove from pan. Cover and chill for 8 hours. Garnish, if desired, and serve with toasted baguette slices.
Yields one 6-inch cheesecake.
