On the Road Again
In August, I went solo to Whistler BC to join other UNIGLOBE travel owners on a retreat, and of course, to play golf. Whistler is located about 2 hours north of Vancouver, and is known for its world-class skiing.
During my stay at Chateau Whistler, I played 2 courses, Chateau Whistler, and Big Sky, and visited 2 others, Whistler Golf Club, and Nicklaus North. There is only one way to describe the golf --AWESOME!!
Chateau Whistler is carved out of the mountain slopes at the base of Blackcomb Mountain. There is an elevation gain of over 400 feet in this Robert Trent Jones designed course Many holes have spectacular views and rushing mountain streams.
Big Sky is about 30 minutes by car from Whistler. Greens fees including cart were a bargain at $95 US. The course is completely surrounded by mountains and an airport is nearby. It's hard to keep your head down to make a good shot with all the beauty nearby.
Whistler Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer design, with 9 lakes, 2 winding creeks and magnificent vistas. Nicklaus North is on the shores of Green Lake in the most beautiful of settings.
