On the Road Again
This newsletter feature is my favorite, because I'm out golfing.
In July, Betty and I went to Richmond/Williamsburg VA. To play and scout new courses. We came away impressed!
We played Devil's Knob at the Wintergreen Resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and saw it's sister course, Stoney Creek, designed by Rees Jones. Devil's Knob is the highest course in VA, has narrow fairways, and was designed by Ellis Maple.
In Williamsburg, we saw and recommend
- Kingsmill- famous for its Pete Dye River course, where the PGA tourney is held.
- Golden Horseshoe- adjacent to the famous Williamsburg Inn. Both courses here were designed or renovated by Rees Jones.
- Stonehouse- was named Best New Upscale course in America in 1997.
- Royal New Kent-is designed to look like you are in Ireland with the tall grasses swaying in the breeze, and the brook gurgling past stone walls.
Call me for more details. Virginia is for Golfers!
Next quarter, our newsletter will describe the large selection of top course in northern Michigan
Mike Fitzgerald
